Advancing women in sales through The Brand Leadership Institute®

The Challenge:

Boston Scientific Corporation (BSC) aimed to build a culture of high performance in sales where female employees can reach their full potential and move up the pipeline of leadership. The company wanted to build a community and culture to drive accelerated performance while helping each employee feel valued. The goals remain retention and accelerated performance within the Interventional Cardiology and Structural Heart division.

Our Approach:

BSC partnered with Velvet Suite to execute The Brand Leadership Institute® (BLI). This development platform offers a cohort-model that delivers on-demand, personalized coaching, interactive original, curated work/life content and a supportive accountability community. This scalable platform reduced the cost of executive coaching, while increasing the speed, reach and success metrics for building a pipeline of top performers. Women access their personalized platform at any time and receive virtual elite personal brand coaching week-to-week. Participants also received access to “Master Class” Webinars and Podcasts with 30+ experts and renowned industry executives. Each participant is matched with an accountability partner who is also a participant in the BLI experience. BS-She, the ERG Group for Interventional Cardiology provided ongoing support, networking, and advocacy for the community.

The Results:

Over the past four years, BSC has graduated more than 100 participants from The Brand Leadership Institute. Participants identified the most significant value as the opportunity to define authentically their own life and career plan based upon the discovery of their purpose, mission, and vision as the foundation of personal brand value. Male managers have become champions of the program, and the instruments from the BLI experience are being used to coach and develop teams impacting the broader culture of the organization around leadership at every level. The company has seen marked increase in promotion, retention and overall career and life fulfillment of graduates.
